Enhancement of electromechanical properties of natural rubber by adding barium titanate filler: An electro?mechanical study

Natural rubber is one of the most potential electro-active polymers for sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting applications. Enhancing characteristic properties by reinforcing with fillers that possess multifunctional attributes have attracted considerable attention. In present study, barium titanate reinforced natural composite prepared using two-roll mill mixing. Afterwards, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical composites are extensively analyzed different amounts into matrix rubber. The fabricated dielectric shows excellent such as high constant, low losses, breakdown strength, extreme stretchability. It observed filler loading reaches value 11 parts per hundred (phr), maximum agglomeration particles occurs. Maximum stretchability highest ratio constant to elastic modulus obtained at 8 phr loading, a actuation strain 11.24% achieved. This study provides simple, economical, effective method preparing enhanced composites, facilitating wide applications materials actuators generators.
